Painting with light

I captured this several weeks ago after first attempting a similar shot with a long time exposure with low iso and wide aperture. The exposure was an hour long and it didn't record anything. In the above photo, the settings were f4/30 seconds @ 2500iso. I painted the foreground with the torch app on my iphone.
