Light trails

Point Leo foreshore. Shot at about 9pm. The first image was only a few minutes, I used my speed light on 1/16th power to paint in the trees, creating a daylight feel to the shot while still gaining movement in the stars. The second image was a 35 minute exposure. Next time I will make it an hour to really get the circular rotation of the stars.

Innocence

I captured this shot while camping over Easter. The girls in the photo had just been talking to some boys. After they left the girls stood looking out to sea and it made me think of the innocence of  youth. Something that everyone loses to some degree as they grow older. I love the yellow rain coat.

This was shot at the Coliban Reservoir on the weekend, high iso / low aperture again. Next time I might go for a long exposure to get star trails. This was my second attempt at star photos, I am pretty pleased with them so far.

Shot for The Ramshackle Army on the weekend. New members mean new photos!

Corporate Portraits

A range of corporate and real estate portraits I have shot over the last 3 weeks for Axiom Photography. Basic one or two light setups - all setup and shot in about 10 - 15 minutes per person. Processed through Capture One Pro 7. Minor retouching for skin in Photoshop, but basically all in camera.

Pool shot for Lend Lease. Multiple exposures used for blending. I don't like the 'HDR' look so I try and keep my blending to a minimum. I want my images to represent what the human eye would see. Making things look unrealistic has it's place but I like real light and its imperfections.

Taken outside mid 2014. A nice snapshot moment after play in the park.
